The installation derives from the Polish word podwórko, which means a public yard between buildings. Beyond its definition, podwórko carries rich cultural connotations as a space for play, daily encounters, and interactions between people and their environment.
My practice treats the city as a site for treasure hunts, during which I uncover various overlooked finds—old playgrounds, accidental marks, and surfaces worn by time. The installation transforms those often unnoticed fragments into a magical experience. Using podwórko as a conceptual frame, I encourage playful and attentive engagement with the seemingly mundane parts of the urban landscape. The work invites the audience to practice attentiveness, both within the gallery space and outside.
