A fine line between is an audiovisual choreography with a wearable instrument as an extension of the body. Physical phenomena like spring reverb and string vibration are combined, they create complex harmonics which are constantly changing. The movement of the body is a reaction to what is heard and the sound reacts to the movement of the body, instead of the body playing the instrument, the body plays together with the instrument. The instrument is played as an act of stimming, to find the space between overstimulation and under-stimulation which for me is hard to reach. Stimming is mainly used as a coping mechanism by autistic people and/or with ADHD, but overstimulation is a problem for everyone. In this time we are increasingly exposed to stimuli we need to process, our attention is even used as a trading strategy. Stimming helps to control our own attention, and connect to our mind and body. Searching for the incidental sounds and the little details, guiding the attention to the present.
