Venus in Rubedo is a collection of sculptures and drawings about the power of femininity. Rubedo is the alchemical process of putrefaction, reinvigoration, and reanimation. Venus refers to the vulva which is metaphorically the portal to the world of spirits.

The installation investigates the tension between anger and surrender, as well as pain and release. The spirit of a decomposed Venus is shaped within the artworks, as she is the embodiment of visceral emotions and the liberation from buried fears.
