Co Mi Karma Da (What Karma Brings Me) introduces you to Poles living in the Netherlands trying to find their ways. To tell that story the film follows DJ Shadowface, an important figure for the local Polish hip-hop community, as he is the organiser of an event called “Show Yours Skills”. In participating (be it perfoming or just listening) people find an artistic outlet, entertainment, a refuge from struggles or a feeling of home, even tough it is far away. The film reflects on various defining conditions in order to nuance the figure of ‘the Pole’ in the Dutch context.
