Léna Le Pommelet is a French graphic designer working in Lausanne, Switzerland. Before TypeMedia she studied type design at École Estienne. Her love for type comes from the pure simplicity of black and white together with her affection towards calligraphy and handmade letters.
GRADUATION PROJECT
Inspired by letter shapes from lettering on old cars and the Civilité calligraphy model, I designed a variable font. It contains one axis that affects several parameters at once. This axis, named the speedometer axis, is starting with a bold, backslanted style, in the middle there is an upright lighter style and it is finishing with a slanted and bold style.
