Memories of the Other Coast

A research-led spatial installation exploring othering and lethe (forgetting) on Lesvos island, in Greece. Its coasts serve as thresholds: passages, sites of loss, community and entertainment.
Documenting one of the coasts where refugees arrive from Turkey, reveals a sharp contrast between vivid memories of the 2015 crisis and Greek hospitality's polished image, where border violence is normalized and overshadowed.
Through videos, residents' narrations, and material fragments, the installation makes the invisible visible, inviting bodily engagement with memory and its erasure.
