Light acts as a threshold between inner contemplation and outward expression, creating both physical and symbolic space. It shapes atmosphere, influences perception and emotion, and becomes a medium of communication between humans and space.

My project emerged from a curiosity about Christian symbolism, religion, and craft as interconnected aspects of cultural heritage. Light became a central theme of this exploration due to its rich symbolic significance. Within the installation Thresholds, architectural elements such as a wall and a suspended light structure shape the perception of light, where it appears in three forms: as daylight, which enters and transforms the space over time; as the ritual light of a candle, which frames moments of attention and presence; and as artificial light, which can be controlled and directed through human intervention.

By working with light, materials, and symbolism, the project explores new relationships between the sacred and the everyday, the past and the present, and industrial production and craftsmanship.
