The Pheasant Trap story.

On a winter’s day, my father shows me the secret of the pheasant.

Living in a small town next to the river, there are always a lot of pheasants around.

My father tells me to cut off a part of our wire fences.

When I ask him what we need that for, he tells me to just watch and learn.

He folds the wired fence into a dome-shaped construction.  There’s an iron plate that strategically holds open the gate.

Attached to this, there’s a willow stick with corn on the end of it.

He says that we now have everything we need and tells me to follow him in the snow

Through the willow trees.

He points out some birds’ footprints in the fresh fallen snow as a sign of good fortune.

He tells me to cover my own footprints to make sure this technique remains our secret.

In between the trees, we sweep the ground clean of leaves and sticks in a circular shape.

After placing the dome-shaped metal trap there, we spread some corn around.

Now we just need to wait for the next morning to come.
