Stand until fall

Infrastructure operates at every scale, from the inner structure of a living body to the political arrangements that organize collective life, it is designed to go unnoticed, and it becomes visible only when it breaks. Construction sites and archaeological digs are the paradigm of this condition because they expose it. Both are suspended in time, one toward a future not yet arrived, the other toward a past beyond reach.

'Stand Until Fall' occupies both simultaneously, existing in a moment that belongs to neither. The installation unfolds beyond a threshold of construction tarp, where a hand-carved ceramic corrugated pipe system connects to the building's plumbing, leaking deliberately at its junctions, alongside a series of sculptural interventions. The work surfaces the building's infrastructure, its temporality, its failures and vulnerabilities, questioning what it means to function, and celebrating the useless.
