What if you got to redesign an intersection? Not for efficiency, but for the unexpected encounter.

Verkeer(t)punt / Common Ground tries to answer that question through a workshop where eleven people worked in groups across three rounds; White: structuring, Orange: overwriting, Green: activating. Together they built a collective proposal; a different image of what a city intersection could look like when it's designed for people, not traffic.

Thanks for participating Armand, Fabian, Flint, Jelle, Niels, Park, Prachand, Saagar, Simcha, Suzie and Tjitte.

First round using white for permanent markings, focused on restructuring.
Participants were asked to write down the reasoning behind their interventions, giving access to the conversations that produced it.
Green for activation; filling the gaps, claiming space, bringing the intersection to life.
Detail of the finished intersection.
