If we look at the human, it is not the organism itself that defines us. Rather it is the new knowledge that we constantly embed in our world. This is because humans are not bound to a clearly defined set of capacities within social networks for our survival, but we to change our environment far beyond our needs.
We use new information and embed this in our current world through artifacts, and hereby create a new world. By creating this new world, we change ourselves again, creating a new definition of humankind; One which will redesign our world all over again.
The riso printed graphic novel Automate displays a version where this cycle of interaction between humans and artifacts has continued for years, where behavior of humans has changed and has turned into complete absurdity. The Hologram totem displays tell-sell-like commercials of artifacts which contribute to the story.
