I WANT TO BE AS HIGH AS DOLPHIN ON A PUFFER FISH

The installation inspired by the Northern Sea, specifically the shores of Scheveningen. This work addresses several themes: my personal fear of deep waters, the contemporary relationship between humans and nature, and the profound trauma of abandonment. Despite the negative emotions processed on the beach, an incredible beauty emerged.

The project began with material research — collecting seashells, recording sounds, and counting dead starfish after a storm. This initial exploration was almost sufficient, but my desire to delve deeper led to months of theoretical research on deep-sea creatures, early marine expeditions, and the mysteries and myths of that alien habitat that was once our home.

The culmination of glory, fear, and pain resulted in two series of sculptures, a spatial construction, and a text.
