A hyper-interactive video essay critiquing the wellness/new age/spirituality industry as seen from the neurodivergent mind's eye. It is a chaotic environment where 3D world building, spoken word, illustration, institutional critique, manifesto collide as a result of curated research, conversations with opposing and like minded views.
It is best consumed by keeping an open mind and having healthy debates or discussions rather than polarizing, fingerpointing, shouting or other ways that got us here in the first place.

Een hyper-interactief video essay met kritiek op de wellness/new age/spiritualiteits industrie, vanuit mijn neurodiverse / 'zieke' perspectief.
Het is een chaotische omgeving waar 3D wereldbouw, spoken word, illustratie, institutioneel kritiek en een manifest samenkomen als een gevolg van gecureerd onderzoek en gesprekken met gelijk- en tegengestemden.
Het wordt aangeraden om in te nemen met een open houding en gezonde debatten/discussie in plaats van polarisatie / vingertje wijzen / schreeuwen en andere manieren die ons in de situatie brachten.

Happytalism emerged from heated conversations with people informing me that I might be biased as a result of neglect from the opposing views. This grew into developing statements about the topic through curation of research, conversations with opposing and likeminded views, as I felt there was something to look further into.
Happytalism - A hyper interactive video essay aimed at the wellness/new age/spirituality industry is a 3-in-1 installation that invites the viewer into my neurodivergent perspective. It is the result of my growing frustration towards the revealing politics / lobby of the industry towards health and vulnerability.
Where it once was planned as a satirical installation, it has now transformed into one of absurd examples that are caricatures of themselves that I expose through deconstructing illustrations or illustrated deconstructions.
Happytalism is a triptych containing a video essay shattered through non-linear worldbuilding showing raw reality via raw aesthetics, accompanied in the physical space by the Bijsluiter(prescription manual) aka the Happytalism Moneyfesto which is a critique on how essential/critical / contextual information is pushed aside for gullibility / misinformation / manipulation.

Happytalism ontstond uit verhitte discussies en gesprekken met mensen die mij zeiden dat ik bevooroordeeld was. Dit bleek ontwijkgedrag van de tegengestelde zienswijze. Vanuit deze ervaringen ontwikkelde ik statements over het onderwerp door middel van onderzoek, gesprekken met voor en tegen-gestelden. Ik had namelijk het idee dat er meer speelde.
Happytalism - Een hyper interactief video essay gericht naar de wellness/new age/spiritualiteitsindustrie is een 3-in-1 installatie dat de bezoeker uitnodigt mijn brein te betreden. Het is het resultaat van mijn groeiende frustratie naar de onthullende politiek / lobby vanuit de industrie richting gezondheid en kwetsbaarheid.
Het kunstwerk was ooit bedacht als een satirische installatie, inmiddels is het getransformeerd naar absurde voorbeelden vertonen die karikaturen van zichzelf zijn. Ik leg deze voorbeelden bloot doormiddelvan deconstruerende illustraties of geïllustreerde deconstructies.
Happytalism is een drieluik bestaande uit een video essay verdeeld in een non-lineare virtuele wereld die een ruwe werkelijkheid laat zien door middel van ruwe esthetiek, het wordt fysiek vergezeld door de Bijsluiter(prescription manual) oftel: het Happytalism Moneyfesto. Een kritiek op hoe de mens omgaat met essentiële/kritische/contextuele informatie en hoe dit opzij wordt geschoven voor goedgelovigheid / misinfomatie / manipulatie.
