'Whilst we were playing, they saw it coming'

This series is dedicated to the experience of people existing in the middle of two extremes, in this case black and white. Faria van Creij-Callender is of mixed heritage herself and originates from at least four different continents. Through various symbols and icons she visualizes how to manoeuvre through the feeling of being left in the middle. She finds importance in not needing to choose one or the other, but in finding ways to balance both in ever changing outcomes. Like playing the piano, or chess: when white and black icons get intertwined they end up creating fascinating plays to experience.
