What if extrapolation could be a new sketching method, a tool to create unexpected shapes and systems? Chop is the result of a semester-long experiment with extrapolating letterforms. The typeface family is divided into two areas, display and text. The extrapolation influence and character come to their full strength in the display extra style. A strong rhythm of enclosed shapes is being directed with cuts, to transform an almost abstract form into a letter. The three text styles: regular, bold and cursive, find their strength in a completely different area. Inspired by the same creation methods, but optimised for text usage.
