Strays is an autobiographical documentary about the people that I have spent my early twenties with, our shared rituals and the places we inhabit. Instead of aiming to look into a specific ¨subculture¨, it features a diverse group of young people with a difficulty to accept or be accepted by the expectations of an adulthood they are transitioning into.
Its protagonists range from squatters, punks and ravers to gender non-conforming sex workers and individuals struggling with mental health issues and/or substance abuse disorders; all united not by a fetishizing label but by a common understanding of similar shared struggles.
