Keepsake of a Spectral Memorabilia consists of an enlarged mechanical heart locket connected to a wearable device that controls its repeated opening and closing movement.
Heart lockets are traditionally worn as amulets that hold precious memories from the past. In this case, the locket rather than an image, it contains a ghostly emptiness—a lingering, formless presence that is unstable and impossible to hold.
The enlarged scale reflects the growing weight of what is held so tightly inside–traces of the past that become too heavy to carry into the future.
The performance unfolds through an hesitant act of holding on and letting go, exploring the necessity of release as well as the embrace of uncertainty and the unstable formation of self shaped by memory and attachment. 
The experience of the work is completed through an ambient composition of light and sound that immerses the viewer.
